If the previous two water softener systems are a little too “out there” for you, there are other more traditional, but still saltless, systems on the market, including the GE Homespring.
This system, which uses a two-stage filtration system, can treat municipal water, untreated well water, and lake water sources. According to GE, the Homespring is the first point-of-use water filtration system certified as a “microbiological water purifier” by the Water Quality Association (WQA).
